The reality of living in Syria today

Clearly nobody cares about how people live in Syria today.

Trump, Puting, Erdogan, Netanyahu, the EU, and the Russians have each its priority for dominance and influence.
Assad in spite of all his crimes remains at the helm of the country with no consideration for what it means for the people of Syria today.

Yesterday, a good Syrian man, with the acceptance of those who do not have hope, was stating that for three month bread was a luxury, each family is allowed only one gaz container every 3 months, and same restrictions on fuel, and many other basic supplies.
He shared that the authorities have requested the family bread owner to register in person to be able to get access to gaz, fuel, bread etc. The family of his son who fled to Lebanon to escape serving in the army, not due to political opinion, but out of fear to die, was now unable to get access to basic supplies because his son did not register in person to get the authorization.

I wondered about why this new regulation.

Eureka!

Assad is looking at driving these families to join their fathers and husbands wherever they are. He does not want any citizen who does not accept his rule or who had the arrogance to hope for freedom. He is picking and choosing his citizens.

But then one could say that he is trying to force these men to come back. Maybe. But what will happen to any draft dodger if he comes back?
The story of another Syrian I came across comes to mind.

He was in his forties. His daughters charming and full of life. His home fell on their head. He flew with his remaining children and wife to Lebanon. To cut a long story short, he was diagnosed with terminal metastatic stomach cancer. He wanted to see his mother before dying. He went to Syria. At the border he was arrested and deemed a draft dodger. All his explanations and documentation of his terminal condition did not count. He was driven to prison. He never saw his mother. He died 10 days later.
